Christ is Risen Indeed!
Dear Friends in Christ,
What a joyful and meaningful Easter season we’ve experienced together at Malvern First United Methodist Church! We rejoice in the blessings of our Risen Savior and give thanks for each of you who contributed to making our celebrations special.
Easter Sunday Celebration Our Easter worship service was truly uplifting and joyous. The sanctuary was beautifully adorned, symbolizing the new life we celebrate in Christ. It was heartwarming to see so many faces – longtime members, new friends, and visiting family – gathered in worship and fellowship. The music from our choir, combined with the prayers of so many gathered (157 in late service and 23 at the Sunrise Service), filled our hearts with hope and joy. Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and participated in the service to create such a memorable celebration.
Tenebrae Service Reflection On Maundy Thursday, we held a deeply moving Tenebrae service. This reflective evening guided us through the shadows of Christ’s passion, allowing us to experience the profound sacrifice and love demonstrated on the cross. The scripture readings, combined with solemn music and the gradual extinguishing of candles, provided a powerful reminder of the depth of God’s love for us. We are grateful to all who attended and helped prepare this sacred experience, which continues to resonate deeply within our hearts.
Looking Ahead in May As we move through the season of Easter toward Pentecost, let us carry forward the spirit of resurrection, renewal, and hope. We encourage you to join us for Worship, Sunday School, Bible Study, and our upcoming fellowship opportunities. May 20th will be our “Together on Tuesday” meal for the church and community. And we are now rushing headlong into Vacation Bible School preparations. This will require a lot of volunteers so I pray you will all be willing to help make this a fabulous VBS.
May God’s grace and peace continue to surround and uplift each of you.
Blessings,
Rev. Candace
