March Newsletter 2026

Dear Church Family,

March invites us into the holy season of Lent, a time when the Church slows its pace and turns its attention toward spiritual renewal. While signs of spring begin to appear around us, Lent calls us inward, inviting us to reflect, pray, and grow deeper in our relationship with Christ.

Lent is not meant to weigh us down. It is meant to re-center us. It is a season of grace, a time to remember who we are and whose we are. We walk these forty days with Jesus toward the cross, trusting that God is always leading us toward resurrection and new life.

At Malvern FUMC, our calling remains clear: United in Hope. Growing in Love. Lent gives us an opportunity to live those words intentionally, strengthening our faith and deepening our care for one another and our community.

We began Lent with Ash Wednesday, a sacred service of prayer, reflection, and the imposition of ashes. The ashes remind us of our humanity and our dependence upon God’s grace. They also remind us that hope belongs to God alone.

Whether you have observed Lent your whole life or are experiencing it for the first time, you are invited to begin this journey with us. One of the greatest blessings of our church is the way we walk alongside one another. Worship, Bible study, fellowship gatherings, and shared ministry opportunities help us grow stronger together. Faith was never meant to be lived alone.

I continue to see God at work through your kindness, your generosity, and your willingness to welcome others. You embody what it means to be a church family rooted in hope and shaped by love.

Lent also reminds us that discipleship extends beyond Sunday morning. As United Methodists, we believe faith becomes real when it is lived out through compassion and service.

Look for opportunities this month to serve, encourage, and support others. A phone call, a prayer, a visit, or a simple act of kindness can become a powerful witness to Christ’s love.

Even now, we walk toward Easter morning. Every prayer we offer, every act of grace we extend, prepares our hearts for the joy of resurrection.

May this season renew your spirit, strengthen your faith, and remind you that God is still at work among us.

Blessings,

Rev. Candace Barron
