Letter of Introduction

Dear Rector First United Methodist Church Family,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

My name is Rev. Candace Barron, and I am honored and excited to be appointed as your new pastor, effective July 1, 2026. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to join you in ministry and to become part of the wonderful community of faith at Rector First United Methodist Church.

I understand that Rector First United Methodist Church has a rich history of faithfulness, service, and love for the community. I look forward to learning your stories, hearing about your hopes and dreams for the future, and discovering how God is calling us to serve together in this season of ministry.

A little about me: I have served in pastoral ministry since 2004 and have a deep love for preaching, teaching, and helping people grow in their faith. I am passionate about building strong communities of discipleship, creating meaningful worship, and reaching beyond the walls of the church to share the love of Christ in practical and life-giving ways.

I also believe the church should be a place where all are welcomed, loved, and encouraged. My prayer is that together we will continue to be a church where hope is found, lives are changed, and Christ is glorified.

As I step into the role at Rector, I do so by following in the footsteps of Rev.  Jonathan Bevil and with appreciation for the ministry that has come before me. I am eager to build upon the strong foundation already in place and to seek God’s vision together for the days ahead.

Please know that I am already praying for you, for your church, and for our future together. I ask that you pray for me, as well, during this time of transition.

I look forward to meeting each of you, worshiping with you, and serving alongside you very soon.

Until then, may God bless you and keep you.

Blessings,

Candace
