As we step into the month of May, we find ourselves standing in a season of transition, both in the life of the church and in the rhythm of the Christian year. Easter is still fresh in our hearts, and yet we are already being drawn toward Pentecost, toward that moment when the Spirit breathes new life into the Church. May is a month that feels like a bridge. School years come to an end, graduations begin, and summer starts to peek around the corner. In the life of faith, it is also a time to reflect on what God has been doing among us and to prepare our hearts for what comes next. The early church in Acts reminds us that faith is not something we hold onto quietly or individually. It is something we live out together. They devoted themselves to teaching, to fellowship, to breaking bread, and to prayer. And because of that shared life, their witness grew.
I see that same spirit alive here. I see it in the way you show up for one another, in worship, in prayer, and in service. I see it in the laughter shared at Hymns on Tap, in the care extended through our Caregivers Group, in the joy of our children and youth leading worship, and even in the quiet moments of connection that happen in hallways and hospital rooms.
As many of you know, this will be my final full month with you before I move to my new appointment in July. That is not easy to say. This church has been a place of deep grace, and you have been a congregation that truly lives out what it means to be the body of Christ. In these coming weeks, I invite you to lean into what matters most. Worship fully. Love deeply. Serve faithfully. And trust that the same God who has been with us will continue to guide Malvern First United Methodist Church into a hopeful future.
There is still good work to do together this month. Let’s embrace it.
Caregivers Support Group
This group continues to be a place of encouragement and understanding for those caring for loved ones. If you or someone you know could benefit, you are always welcome.
Hymns on Tap
Our monthly gathering continues to be a meaningful way to connect with others in the community. Singing familiar hymns in a relaxed setting has opened doors for conversation, relationship, and invitation.
Children and Youth Worship Night
We are grateful for the ways our young people are leading us in worship. Their voices, their energy, and their faith are a gift to this church.
Yoga Ministry
Meeting each Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall, this class offers a time for physical care and spiritual renewal. All are welcome.
In a world that often feels uncertain, the Church is called to be steady. Not because we have all the answers, but because we know the One who does. May we continue to be a people rooted in hope, growing in love, and reaching out in grace.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved in any ministry, please contact the church office. We would love to help you find your place in the life of the church.
Blessings, Rev. Candace
